FMC645
The FMC645 is a Digital Signal Processor FMC daughter card based on the Texas Instruments TMS320C6455 device. The FMC645 daughter card is mechanically and electrically compliant with the FMC standard (ANSI/VITA 57.1). The card has a high-pin count connector and can be used in a conduction cooled environment. The card is equipped with power supply and temperature monitoring and offers several power-down modes to switch off unused functions and peripheral interfaces. Several Gigabit differential pairs from the FMC connector are used to implement a PCIe and Serial Rapid IO interface between the FMC and the carrier. Many other digital I/O interfaces are also made available to the FMC carrier. Because of the use of level translators between the DSP and the FMC connector the FMC645 can fully operate on any VITA 57.1 compliant carrier. A 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM on-board bank directly connects to the DSP thus providing the FMC645 with the memory resources required for demanding signal processing applications. (+) -

Coaxial adapters for monitoring points
For the direct type, the device is made up of three coaxial interfaces so that an input / output path for the signal in transit and a direct link for monitoring are created (+)Features:
30429.jpg- For the uncoupled type, the device is also made up of three coaxial interfaces; the difference lies in the fact that the signal which is picked up to be monitored is uncoupled with respect to the signal in transit through the insertion of an internal resistor which has been appropriately connected
- Sometimes there is also the need for better adaptation, from an electrical point of view, of the output port of the signal being monitored; in this case a further resistor is appropriately connected, thus obtaining an uncoupled and adapted link
- As far as the interface coaxial connectors are concerned, the most common types used are the 1.0/2.3 and 1.6/5.6 (male or female)
-
BALUNS
Impedance adapters allow systems with different impedance levels to be connected (+)Features:
30182.jpg- As is well known, the best method for transmitting a signal is to transport it using means with uniform impedance: Any variation or discontinuity leads to great reflections and losses in the signal
- In modern equipment the need often arises to connect systems with a 75 ohm output (typical in the use of coaxial cables) with systems with a 120 ohm output (typical when using twisted pairs which have been introduced because a high density of connections with cables of reduced dimensions is needed)
- It becomes necessary, therefore, to adopt a device capable of connecting the two systems in such a way that each uses its own impedance, eliminating the possibility of having substantial losses in the signal
