Rugged Power
Military applications and systems including rugged handheld computers or TabletPCs, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs), mission computers, avionics, radar, telemetry, sonar, and manpacks - to name just a few - are based on disparate technologies. And, they all ... Morehave differing roles within the mission and on the battlefield. The only design commonality among all of them is that they all need power - and specifically "rugged power" - to bring them to life. These harsh-environment, mil-deployable power technologies are all designed (or uprated via HALT/HASS testing) to meet the rigors of the modern battlefield. They must meet MIL-SPEC and other mission-specific requirements for extreme shock, vibration, and temperature levels. These "ruggedized" power technologies include power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, fuel cells, power adapters, and more, all ready for the demands of today's front lines.
