CAR-5040, the latest network communication security platform from American Portwell Technology, Inc., is a 2U rackmount system based on the dual Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 family and Intel C610 chipset series. The CAR-5040 features sixteen DDR4 DIMMs, up to 2133MHz memory; flexible user interface; up to 54 ports by six swappable Portwell NIC modules and one standard NIC. It also supports two standard PCIe extension slots and three onboard RJ45 ports, one of three with IPMI v2.0, and well-integrated System Thermal Monitoring function.

Portwell’s New 2U Rackmount Network Security Appliance Offers Multiple Expansion Slots and Wider Configurations
American Portwell’s CAR-5030 network security appliance uses the newly-designed 2U chassis that provides optimized space utilization for greater configuration flexibility. The new 2U rackmount network security appliance is based on the Intel Romley platform supporting dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 Socket R-type processor family (codenamed Sandy Bridge-EP) and Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 family (codenamed Ivy Bridge-EP) and Intel C604 chipset. This platform also supports up to 16 cores, 2QPI (to maximize multi-core performance), 40MB cache and 16 slots of DDR3 RDIMM/UDIMM and ECC memory up to 1024GB. It supports up to five Portwell Ethernet modules, one PCIe x4 and three PCIe x8 standard expansion slots and a GbE speed IPMI 2.0 module for improved out-of-band management and monitoring.
